Welcome to Southside Netball Club
Southside train every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. We have a fantastic new coach, Anne – who definitely gets us working! Anne is a level 2 accredited coach.
During the main season (Sept-April) we have training on Wednesday nights when we don’t have home games – so it’s a little more sporadic, but still happens.
We will be entering two teams into the Manchester Evening League. Home games are Wednesday nights and away games can be any night Mon-Thurs. http://www.menl.org.uk/
Southside has a great mix of members. Some of whom have been here since the start but also some new players who joined last season who haven’t played netball since school.
We have players who want to play more competitively but also players who are interested in the social side of the game. That is the great thing about Southside – at our club you can kinda have it all!
The Year Ahead
We are excited to announce Southside's first involvement with Back To Netball. Every Wednesday for the next 8 weeks (starting Wed 22nd) we are inviting you to come and train for an hour for just £3. Mainly aimed at those who haven't played netball for a few years (even since school), this is a great way to get fit, consider a new sport and meet some new people. If it goes well, feel free to join Southside and play competitively too! (but no obligation, obviously!). See link for further information.
We are proud to announce Southside’s partnership with Manchester City Football Club and the Premier League 4 Sport project. Aimed at girls aged between 14-18 we will hold training sessions every Wednesday (during term time), 6.30pm at Cedar Mount. It is hoped that some of these younger members will be encouraged to take up netball more competitively and join our ‘hub club’, the main Southside Netball club. Click here to read further details.
We will also be holding a number of fundraising events to both help the club out but also raise money for our chosen charity – Macmillan Cancer.
